The Town of Mason is taking applications for a fire chief to lead their fire department.
The fire chief is a highly visible municipal department head that is expected to project a professional image of self, the fire department, and the town in all situations. This position is under the direct supervision of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. The fire chief is responsible for the aspects of administration, planning, supervision, and management of the fire department. The fire chief performs a variety of technical, administrative, and supervisory work in planning, organizing, directing, and implementing fire prevention, suppression, and emergency response services to prevent or minimize the loss of life and property by fire and other emergencies. This position coordinates fire control, rescue, hazardous material clean-up, and mitigation efforts during the department’s responses to emergency situations. The fire chief will also work closely with emergency services dispatch and emergency management services.

Supporting documents should include copies of certificates issued from the Tennessee Firefighting Personnel Standards and Education Commission (for levels of certification obtained) or those eligible for reciprocity, and the Tennessee Department of Health Emergency Medical Services (for EMS license) or those eligible for reciprocity.
