Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I begin looking for help at MTAS?

Start with your city's MTAS management consultant. This is your front-line, MTAS resource person.   If you are not sure who your management consultant is, check the "Locate a consultant" map link on the left navigator to locate the consultant assigned to your city.

Once in the map, click on the county where your city is located and your consultant's contact information will be displayed.

If this doesn’t answer your question, call the Knoxville headquarters at 865-974-0411 and the receptionist will be glad to direct you to your consultant.

Where can I find a sample document to get me started?

Sample documents can be searched in the MTAS Knowledgebase. Click on the "Access Knowledgebase"  link in the navigator on the left side of the screen. Look to the right side of the screen for the "Search Knowledgebase" box  and enter one or two words in this box.

If you have any further questions on locating sample documents, please contact our librarians.

Is there a complete list of city’s addresses and phone numbers?

Go to "Locate City Information" in the navigator to the left of this screen. This link will take you to a complete list of cities with their addresses and phone numbers. Feel free to select, copy and paste this information into a document or spreadsheet for your use.

If you have further questions on this topic, please contact Lisa Shipley at 865-974-0411.

Where do I find the latest MTAS Publications?

The best place to start is the front page of the MTAS website.  The gray box on the right of the homepage provides links to publications released in the current and previous  month.

However, if the publication that you need is not listed here,  click on the "View all Publications" link at the bottom of the gray box and you will find an alphabetical listing by title of all current MTAS publications.

How can I obtain a printed copy of a MTAS publication?

All current MTAS publications are on the MTAS website where they can be either printed or downloaded for free. A fee is charged for each publication that is printed by MTAS.

To request a printed copy, click on the "Read MTAS Publications" link on the left navigator. On the MTAS publications page, click on the "Publication Order Form" link located in the gray box on the right side of the page.  Follow the instructions at the bottom of the order form.

May I post a job vacancy from my city on the MTAS website?
Email a document with the vacancy information to Frances Adams-O'Brien and the vacancy will be posted to the website within 24 to 48 hours. Please provide a closing date for the posting.  If a close date is not provided, postings will be removed within 2 months of the date it was posted to the MTAS website. There is no charge for this service.

To see the job listings page, click on the "View Job Listings" link on the main navigator.
