• The annual update service includes updating a municipality’s code once a year by incorporating all ordinances adopted during the past year along with any charter amendments.
• Fees are twenty-five dollars ($25) per page* based on the number of pages that are modified by ordinance. Invoices are sent when the annual update is completed.
• Modifications to the city charter are not subject to the per page update fee.

The second service is preparation of a complete code. This includes drafting new codes from model versions, conversions/re-codifications of earlier MTAS codes, and any conversion of a code prepared by another party (municipality prepared or private company).

Fees for complete code services are based on municipal population. MTAS will invoice a municipality for fifty percent (50%) of the cost of the complete code after receipt of the signed resolution requesting MTAS prepare the code. The remaining fifty percent (50%) is invoiced upon delivery of the initial draft of the new code. Once the complete code is adopted, the municipality should begin the annual update service listed above by sending MTAS all ordinances passed since the code was adopted. The first update should be scheduled one year after final reading of the code-adopting ordinance.

Current fee schedule (by municipal population):

• 0-2,000 = $3,500
• 2,001-5,000 = $4,800
• 5,001-10,000 = $7,300
• 10,001-15,000 = $9,300
• 15,001-25,000 = $13,000
• 25,001-50,000 = $14,500
• 50,001 and over = $18,000
