By setting mission-oriented goals through 2027, our strategic plan guides our overarching vision and also guides us toward serving Tennessee municipalities with best-in-class services and support.

Our Strategic Plan at a Glance

By December 2027, we will achieve a minimum of 10% improvement on employee engagement survey metrics by cultivating a culture of support, engagement and accountability at all levels of the organization, attracting and retaining a skilled, inclusive workforce that engages the communities we serve, improving the quality of leadership and communication with MTAS staff, and by reviewing and updating agency performance measures and metrics.

By December 2026, we will recalibrate, document and maintain consistent standards of practice by establishing an employee task force to gather information and identify gaps and inconsistencies in current practice, and by developing, maintaining and annually evaluating agency standards of practice.

By December 2027, MTAS will deliver the highest quality services, products and information to our customers by evaluating the current state of development of professional publications and information resources, improving customer outreach and external communication by actively promoting MTAS capabilities and services and by enhancing and modernizing MTAS services and products.
