Powers of a city judge
MTAS was asked three questions from the city of Clinton regarding the power of the City Judge. Can the Clinton City Judge:
- issue inspection (search) warrants for code enforcement action?
- issue court order(s) with specific time limits to remediate code violations? We know judge can issue fines; we’re looking for code enforcement orders based on adopted city ordinances.
- issue arrest warrants for repeat violators?
