ISO public protection classification review for Bartlett, Tennessee

As a service to Bartlett Fire Chief Terry Wiggins and Assistant Fire Chief Tommy Gately, MTAS conducted an updated review of the city's 2017 ISO evaluation in preparation for an anticipated Public Protection Classification review in the summer/fall of 2022. MTAS reviewed Bartlett's Public Protection Classification Summary Report prepared by the Insurance Service Office (ISO) dated April 2017, against the current (2012/2013) edition of the ISO Fire Suppression Rating Schedule and toured the fire protection area. This report includes observations and recommendations based upon that comparison and observations made during site visits.

Pre-employment hepatitis C testing declination form

State law (T.C.A. 7-51-209) provides a rebuttable presumption that any emergency rescue worker who suffers a condition or impairment of health that is caused by the hepatitis C virus, and that results in total or partial disability or death shall be presumed to have a disability suffered in the line of duty, unless the contrary is shown by a preponderance of the evidence that the exposure did not occur elsewhere. They employer may offer a preemployment test for hepatitis C, and the applicant may choose to decline the test. MTAS created a template for a hepatitis C preemployment testing declination form. You may modify this template to meet local needs, and MTAS recommends that your city attorney review this form before you use it.

Town of Englewood natural gas review

The Town of Englewood requested that MTAS review its current natural gas system. For many years, since the utility was established in the 1950s, very little maintenance or upgrades have been made to the system. The system is aging and many capital improvements are needed to continue the operation in a safe environment. MTAS obtained a history of financial statements, audits, pipeline contracts and other information to get a full view of the entire system and its financial position.
