Abstract: Suburban communities are increasingly facing the same challenges as urban areas, including homelessness, but with fewer resources and less public visibility. This article spotlights the village of Oak Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Oak Park has seen encampments emerge and has had to confront the realities of supporting unhoused individuals.
