Abstract: The Morristown-Hamblen County Metropolitan Government Charter Commission came into being in 1977 by the joint action of the Quarterly County Court of Hamblen County, Tennessee, and the City Council of the City of Morristown, under the terms and provisions of Tennessee Code Annotated 6-3701-6-3738. On August 14, 1978, the Commission unanimously voted to adopt this charter as a proposal for the city and county.
