Abstract: The New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJDOC) prepares roughly 10,000 inmates for reentry from prison back into the community each year. That is why offender reentry is far more than a catchphrase to those of us in corrections. The objective of offender reentry is to enhance public safety by reducing the risk that inmates will reoffend and return to prison.
