Fellow MTASers,

I am very happy to tell you that Rick Whitehead will became MTAS’s Assistant Director effective November 1 ^st . While the process to get to this point has taken a while, it has been thorough and several candidates brought skills and experience to the table that are very important to MTAS. Rick’s many years of city government and management experience combined with those with MTAS position him well to take on this new and enhanced assignment.

Rick’s “official station” will be Knoxville. He will be working with Pat Hardy and me implementing a transition plan for the next several weeks and that time will be split between Jackson and Knoxville. We are targeting December 1 ^st for him to be in Knoxville full-time.

I will look to Rick to primarily focus on management of all MTAS operations, but, as has always been the case, no one person goes it alone in getting our services delivered to our customers. So, I will continue to rely on each of us to move all of MTAS forward as Rick steps forward in helping us be at our best.
