IPS Staff,

The Governor released his budget proposal today and it is good news for IPS. Although this is only the first step in the budget approval process, it is a very positive one!

We took a very small cut in our state appropriation which was offset by an operating increase, funding for a 2.5% salary pool on unrestricted positions, and funding for expected benefit increases. Our leadership team and finance offices will be monitoring the budget as it moves through the legislative process, but I am very encouraged by this positive signal from the Governor.

This outcome is due in large part to the efforts of the UT leadership team including President Joe DiPietro, CFO Butch Peccolo and VP Hank Dye who have advocated on our behalf. I have already expressed my appreciation to them. It is easy to be an advocate of our outreach work because we have a team of professionals in IPS who deliver outstanding service to our customers every day.

Thanks for all you do. We will keep you informed as information becomes available.
