MTAS was asked to provide the Town with a resolution naming the Sevier County Veterans Facility in honor of Mr. Dannie Carr.
TOWN OF PITTMAN CENTER, TENNESSEE
RESOLUTION NO. 189
WHEREAS, the Town of Pittman Center, Tennessee, is extremely proud and indebted to those among us who have answered the call to duty and served our country in the armed services; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Pittman Center is particularly indebted to those from the Pittman Center area who have served in times of conflict; and
WHEREAS, among this dedicated group of citizens is Specialist Four Dannie Carr, who served our country with distinction during the Vietnam War; and
WHEREAS, Dannie Carr, wounded in battle, has been duly recognized by our country, having been awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart for his valor and;
WHEREAS, such heroism should not go without eternal recognition by the Town of Pittman Center:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen of the Town of Pittman Center, Tennessee, that the Sevier County Veterans Facility shall be officially and forever named in honor of Mr. Danny Carr; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a plaque or otherwise similar notice shall be affixed to the facility in recognition of such honor, so that all persons from this day forward shall recognize the sacrifice and commitment Mr. Carr has made to our country and community, in order that they too may be inspired by his life.
