Resolution Adding an Option to the City's Personnel Policy for Advertising Position Vacancies in the Local Newspaper and/or on the City's Website
This resolution allows the city to change the recruitment requirement to include the use of either the local newspaper or the city's website, or both.

A RESOLUTION ADDING AN OPTION TO THE CITY’S PERSONNEL POLICY FOR ADVERTISING POSITION VACANCIES IN THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER AND/OR THE CITY’S WEBSITE.
Whereas, the City of Pigeon Forge has adopted a set of Personnel Polices; and
Whereas, Section III (B) of such Policies requires advertising for a position vacancy in a location inside city hall and in the local newspaper; and
Whereas, new technologies such as the City’s website are more commonly used by potential applicants when searching for jobs; and
Whereas, the City desires to change the recruitment advertisement requirement to include the use of either the local newspaper or the City’s website, or both.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, that:
Section 1. Section III (B) of the City’s Personnel Policies Handbook is changed by deleting the last sentence in the section and adding the following:
When a vacancy occurs the City Manager, in cooperation with the respective department head, will prepare and place notice of the position vacancy in locations inside city hall and in the local newspaper and/or the City’s website.
Section 2. This resolution shall be effective upon final passage, the public welfare
