ORDINANCE 01-05


AN ORDINANCE DISBANDING THE TOWN OF OAKDALE FIRE DEPARTMENT

BY REPEALING TITLE 7 SECTIONS 301 THROUGH 307 OF THE TOWN OF OAKDALE = S CODE OF ORDINANCES

WHEREAS, the town of Oakdale = s shrinking revenue base has been outpaced by rising operating municipal costs; and

WHEREAS, the town of Oakdale can not afford to continue to operate its fire department at a level of service previously provided to its citizens; and

WHEREAS, the town believes that it will be in the best interest for the fire department to act independently from the city; and

WHEREAS, the town desires to provide the existing fire station and equipment for a fee of $1 per year for the independent fire department.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN OF OAKDALE CITY COUNCIL THAT

Section 1: Title 7, Sections 301,302,303,304,305, 306 and 307 are hereby repealed.

Section 2: All previous fire department appointments by the Mayor and City Council are hereby repealed. No current and/or existing mutual aid agreements shall be in conflict with ordinance 01-05.

Section 3: The newly independent fire department shall pay an annual lease payment of

$ 1 per year for a period of 10 years to use the existing fire station and equipment as listed:
