Position Title: Main Street McMinnville Executive Director
Report To: Main Street McMinnville Board of Directors
Overview of Position: The Director of Main Street McMinnville will promote, plan and manage downtown activities and special events, educate businesses, serve as a listener, collaborator, visionary, facilitator, and coordinator.
Job Responsibilities: Represent the community locally, regionally, and nationally.
Manage all administrative aspects of Main Street McMinnville including: developing and maintaining appropriate data system for record keeping, developing and monitoring budgets, accounting, purchasing, preparing reports, documenting changes, retaining information on job creation and business retention, and other office activities as necessary.
Develop strategies for downtown economic development and historic preservation with various committees and Board of Directors.
Serve as the first point of contact for guests and answering questions from the community and visitors.
Maintain web site and social media accounts for Main Street McMinnville.
Communicate with all members and downtown business owners to keep them informed of activities happening downtown.
Coordinate all projects and activities within the downtown area, including Main Street Live, Second Saturday, Farm to Table Dinner, Christmas Open House, etc. Coordinate and manage all preparation of events, including by not limited to registration, sponsorships, and volunteer coordination.
Weekend and evening hours will be required at times throughout the year for Main Street McMinnville events. Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work long hours when necessary.
Recruit and retain Main Street McMinnville membership.
Advise and assist in efforts to attract people to downtown.
Participate in appropriate community organizations.
Develop and conduct public awareness and education programs through speaking engagements, media interviews, and public appearances. Must maintain positive relationships with media outlets and keep Main Street McMinnville visible to the public and in a positive light.
Provide advice and guidance to individual tenants and property owners regarding physical improvements, vacancies, and other issues.
Build strong and productive relationships with appropriate public agencies at the local and state level.
Job Requirements: Entrepreneurial spirit
Marketing, public relations, graphic design, and advertising skills desired
Knowledge of downtown public and private issues desired
Excellent organizational skills
Strong computer skills with Quickbooks, social media, spreadsheets, etc
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Education/ Experience: Bachelor’s degree and/ or 5 years experience in community development, business economics, downtown historic district development, marketing, public relations, and advertising.
Salary and Benefits: Will be determined based on qualifications and experience'
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
