Dr. Chris Shults, grants and training specialist, joined MTAS in September 2014. He holds a doctorate in political science, a master's degree in public administration and a bachelor's degree in political science.
As the grants and training specialist, Chris draws on both his academic and practitioner experience to develop grant proposals, develop and deliver municipal training courses, conduct municipal program evaluations and state and local government research.
Prior to joining MTAS, Chris worked for the University of Tennessee as a teaching associate in the political science department. He continues to teach at East Tennessee State University in the political science department.
