Elected Officials Academy
The Elected Officials Academy (EOA) is a program designed exclusively for municipal elected officials. The course content covers various aspects of municipal leadership. The program is composed of two levels. The first level consists of 5 two-hour sessions. The second level offers 12 two-hour sessions, of which you only need to complete 8 of the 12 sessions.
EOA Session Descriptions
Level I
Level I sessions cover the essentials of municipal government in Tennessee.

- Charter and Codes and Open Records
- Economic Development
- Finance for the Elected Official
- Ethics and Open Meetings
Level II
Customize level II by choosing eight of the following sessions:
- Council at Work
- Fire
- Human Resources
- Legislative Issues
- Media Relations
- Parks and Recreation
- Planning and Zoning
- Police
- Public Works
- Risk Management
- Water and Wastewater
Academy Credit
The Academy has met IACET criteria for CEUs. Completion of both levels of the Academy awards participants 2.6 units.
Registration
A one time registration fee of $200 covers instruction for both Level I and II of the Elected Officials Academy.
