Accepting the Non-Smoker Protection Act


WHEREAS, Effective June 11, 2007 the State of Tennessee passed the Non-Smoker Protection Act; and

WHEREAS,Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 18 bans all smoking in municipally owned property in Tennessee; and

WHEREAS, The Loudon Utility Board desires to follow the Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 18; and

WHEREAS, The Loudon Utility Board must comply by October 1, 2007.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Loudon Utility Board as follows:

Section 1. The Loudon Utility Board hereby states that all enclosed buildings owned by LUB are hereby declared smoke-free.

Section 2. The Loudon Utility Board hereby states that all vehicles owned by LUB are hereby declared smoke-free.

Section 3. This resolution, after passage, becomes effective on noon October 1, 2007.
