CLASS SUMMARY:
ENGINEER: This is the first of five levels in the Engineering series. Incumbents perform engineering tasks as assigned. Responsibilities include determining data to be collected by survey and utility locator crews; reviewing the design calculations of other engineers, reviewing residential and commercial development plans for compliance with City specifications; designing utility systems improvements; preparing easement descriptions and related documents; and identifying and addressing issues in utility systems.

SENIOR ENGINEER: This is the second of five levels in the Engineering series. Incumbents perform a variety of professional engineering projects and tasks. Responsibilities may include reviewing and approving technical reports and contractor deliverables; monitoring and evaluating the progress of construction and consultant design projects; providing engineering support to the development of new public utility programs and systems; developing and implementing computer models of public utility systems; monitoring sanitary sewer flow and rain gauge data; and performing the duties of the lower level.

ENGINEERING PROJECT COORDINATORThis is the third of five levels in the Engineering series. Incumbents plan, coordinate, and monitor engineering, and construction projects. Responsibilities may include determining project scope, budget, and schedule; designing improvements to public utility systems; preparing cost estimates; reviewing and approving the work of contractors; providing recommendations for development of the capital budget,; and performing duties of the lower level.
