Assistant City Manager

The City of Dayton, Tennessee is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant City Manager. The Assistant City Manager will report directly to the City Manager and will assist the City Manager in overseeing the day to day operations of the City. The Assistant City Manager will help the City Manager in overseeing city operations with approximately $61 million budget and 139 full time and 4 plus part time employees in administration, police, fire, public works, airport, water, sewer, electric, parks and recreation, library and finance. The City of Dayton also operates a water utility, sewer utility, electric utility and airport and the Assistant City Manager will be responsible for assisting the City Manager in overseeing these departments. The Assistant City Manager will be responsible in assisting the City Manager in the planning, directing, managing, and reviewing all activities and operations of the city among other duties assigned by the City Manager.

The minimum requirements for this position include a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience, with a preferred focus in public administration, management, business administration, finance or closely related field. The City offers a comprehensive benefits package including participation in the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS). Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
