Class Description: 
The municipal purchasing process is a complex activity that needs the expertise of trained individuals in order to be performed efficiently. When properly implemented, the purchasing process can save the municipality time and money in the acquisition of quality goods and services. This course will cover objectives and goals of the purchasing function, the importance of written specifications, the Municipal Purchasing Law of 1983, and other general laws applicable to the purchasing environment. This class is designed for purchasing professionals, department supervisors, and others participating in the acquisition of goods and services for the municipality.
