Text of Document: The City of Morrison asked MTAS how to go about electing a Vice-Mayor. MTAS advised that the Mayor declare nominations open for the office of Vice-Mayor. If only one person is nominated, the Mayor declares that nominations are closed and asks for a motion to elect the nominee as Vice-Mayor. If more than one person is nominated, the Mayor may declare that nominations are closed, without objection, when all nominations are in, and then ask for a motion to elect the first nominee. If the first nominee gets a majority vote, then that person is the Vice-Mayor. If not, a motion is requested to elect the second nominee, and so on, until one of the aldermen receives a majority vote and is elected Vice-Mayor.
