TOWN OF CENTERVILLE
AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL AND AMEND A PORTION OF ARTICLE _____, SECTION M OF THE PERSONNEL POLICY REGARDING WORKERS’ COMPENSATION
WHEREAS, The Board of Mayor and Aldermen desires to comply with the Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Law; and
WHEREAS, The Tennessee Municipal League’s Risk Management Pool recommends amending the Town’s current policy for maximum protection.
NOW THEREORE , Be it ordained by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen of the Town of Centerville, that the first paragraph of Section M of the Town of Centerville’s Personnel Policy be repealed and amended by adding the following in its place:
All injuries arising out of and in the course of one’s employment shall be governed by the Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Law. The Town will pay the difference between Workers’ Compensation and the employees regular take home pay for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days following the date of injury. Any monies received as a benefit under Workers’ Compensation must be deposited in original check or draft form with the Town Recorder by the employee. Taking into account the tax-free provision of workers’ compensation benefits, the total amount of monies paid the employee each pay period shall not exceed the full pay the employee would have received for the period at his/her regular straight-time or normal work period rate in effect as of the date of the injury.
This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the town demanding it.
