Mobile charges a fee for use of the Public Right of Way of $1.01-$2.00 per linear foot. The city does not charge fees based on the revenue of the company utilizing the Right of Way. There are no processing fees or reasons for the city to discount or waive fees. Alabama does not limit the amount of space or the sharing of space on the Right of Way.

The following information was provided:
Electric utilities – GA Power, Jefferson Electric pay 4% of gross revenue
Telephone Co – AT&T, Bellsouth pay 3% of gross revenue
Television/cable providers – WOW, Comcast pay 5% of gross revenue
Gas companies – Atlanta gas pay based on a formula which included Design Day Capacity

Additionally, Augusta, GA has ordinances approving these franchise fees which can be located on the following website: www.augustaga.gov . Gross revenue is defined in O.C.G.A section 36-76-2, which is the definition that Augusta uses.
